Is AIPAC in Violation of Federal Election Law? – Centre for Research on Globalization – Renee Parsons

What newcomer to the US House of Representatives, Rep. Ilhan Omar(D-Mn) may not have fully realized  is that her critique of Israel influence on American politics would open a door that has previously been hermetically sealed as the third rail of American politics.

With its influence carefully concealed behind decades of deceptions, lies and ruthless intimidation and representing a mere 2.1% of the population spread across nine states, AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and its supporters are like any school yard bully when confronted with a higher ethical authority.  They throw down the race card, an archaic accusation of anti-semitism intended to play on a misguided empathy that is no longer effective when confronted with words that speak truth to power.

Rep. Omar first came to our attention during a House Foreign Affairs Committee meeting with an elegant takedown of convicted felon and neo-con purveyor of brutal atrocities Elliot Abrams. Abrams is currently President Trump’s point man on plotting future military action in Venezuela.

Is Diversity a Root Cause of Dual Loyalty? | Patrick J. Buchanan – Official Website

March 16, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

“We can’t be divided by race, religion, by tribe. We’re defined by those enduring principles in the Constitution, even though we don’t necessarily all know them.”

So Joe Biden told the firefighters union this week.

But does Joe really believe that? Or does that not sound more like a plea, a wistful hope, rather than a deep conviction?

For Biden surely had in mind the debate that exploded last week in the House Democratic caucus on how to punish Somali-American and Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for raising the specter of dual loyalty.

Ilhan Omar Is Just Another Victim of Zion’s Politically Lethal Sting – Wayne Madsen

March 14, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Freshman US Representative Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota and a Somali-American Muslim, is not the first nor will she be the last victim of Zion’s sting. Omar is merely the latest in a long line of US politicians who have faced the onslaught of Israel’s powerful lobbying vise grip in Washington. In fact, long before there was a state of Israel, American presidents and statesmen fell victim to the power of political Zionism to retaliate against those who failed to back the concept of a Jewish homeland in the Middle East.

Those who opposed the Israel Lobby and placed America’s interests ahead of Israel’s were punished politically. However, all of those who stood up to Israel’s arrogance of power in Washington represented a cross section of the American people: Democrats and Republicans, libertarians and democratic socialists, whites and African-Americans, Gentiles and Jews, and those from the Northeast, South, Midwest, and West. Saying no to bullies is an American trait that should be revered and not condemned by those who now find it sporting to take cheap political pot shots at Congresswomen Omar, Tlaib, and Ocasio-Cortez.

On the Contrary: Black leaders Proclaim Forbidden Truths about Israeli and Talmudic Lies – Michael Hoffman

March 7, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

At the end of February Somali-American Rep. Ilhan Omar (D.-MN) reiterated her concerns about Congressional allegiance to the foreign Israeli nation. Now Congress is considering her condemnation, led by Democrats from her own party.
There is much to disagree with in Rep. Omar’s domestic policies, but her views on the oppression of the Palestinians with US taxpayer support, and the malicious influence of the Israeli lobby in recruiting and seducing a Congress that has repeatedly put the Israeli agenda ahead of that of America (for instance, the U.S. war with Iraq was not for oil, it was for the Israelis) — is a revolutionary and welcome development.
In 2018 the women’s movement that helped elect Omar to Congress was ordered by Zionists and Talmudists to repudiate Louis Farrakhan due to his public exposure of the Talmud’s pornographic slurs against Jesus. In my speech to Mr. Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam in Chicago on Feb. 17 of this year, I asked, “When will the adherents of the Orthodox religion of Judaism be called upon to repudiate the racism and hatred in the Talmud? You can watch a one minute clip of that portion of my speech at this link.

The House Democrats’ “Rebuke” of Rep. Ilhan Omar is a Fraud For Many Reasons, Including its Wild Distortion of Her Comments – The Intercept – Glenn Greenwald

March 6, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

GOP CONGRESSMAN STEVE KING has served in the U.S. House of Representatives for sixteen years, yet Democrats – who controlled the House for four of those years and now control it again – never formally rebuked or condemned him until last month (they did so at the same time that Republicans removed him from his Committee assignments due to a long history of white supremacist remarks).

By extremely stark contrast, Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar – the first black Muslim woman ever elected to the Congress – has served in the House for a little more than two months, and House Democratic leaders have already formally condemned her once and are preparing to so again, this time even more harshly and officially, on Wednesday.

On February 11, the House Democratic leadership, responding to statements made by Omar about large donors and AIPAC driving pro-Israel policies, issued a joint statement condemning Omar for what they called her “use of anti-Semitic tropes,” adding that her “prejudicial accusations about Israel’s defenders” are “deeply offensive.” They then demanded: “We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments.”

A quick note on Rand Paul and Ilhan Omar | Non-Intervention2 – Mike Scheuer

March 6, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

In the senate career of Rand Paul, the first two months of 2019 have been revelatory. After running for the Republican nomination for the presidency in 2016 – and appearing to have no reliably substantive and consistent stance on many issues – he seemed to become a steady, America First conservative in 2017-2018. Now, in less than ten weeks, Senator Paul has been (a) rather  quiescent in the face the Trump neocons’  loud and accelerating drive for regime change in Venezuela; (b) unfazed by the continuation of open borders and, seemingly, unlimited imports of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, heroin, illegal voters, child-trafficking for pedophile consumption, dole-seekers, illegal criminal aliens, etc.; and (c) eager to canonize the wretched Koch brothers, who seem to stand for the same things and have many hundreds of thousands of dollars to send the Senator’s way. In Rand Paul’s case, it increasingly appears that the apple has fallen very, very far from the tree, and, miraculously, turned into a jackass.

Rep. Ilhan Omar v. convicted felon Elliott Abrams | Intrepid Report.com – Stephen Lendman

For challenging Israeli brutality against Palestinians, House Republicans and Dems want Omar removed from its Foreign Relations Committee.

During her short tenure in Congress so far, Omar courageously criticized Israeli apartheid ruthlessness and challenged Elliott Abrams’ involvement in high crimes of war and against humanity.

Lots more like her are needed in Congress, among the fourth estate, and throughout US society—challenging imperial lawlessness, US high crimes too egregious to ignore, going further by demanding accountability.

Ilhan Omar Destroyed Taboo on AIPAC, Israel Criticism – The Intercept – Mehdi Hasan

February 13, 2019 by · 1 Comment

IN 2005, STEVEN Rosen, then a senior official with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, sat down for dinner with journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, then of the New Yorker. “You see this napkin?” Rosen asked Goldberg. “In twenty-four hours, [AIPAC] could have the signatures of seventy senators on this napkin.”

I couldn’t help but be reminded of this anecdote after Rep. Ilhan Omar, of Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, was slammed by Democrats and Republicans alike over her suggestion, in a pair of tweets, that U.S. politicians back the state of Israel because of financial pressure from AIPAC (“It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” she declaimed). Was the flippant way in which she phrased her tweets a problem? Did it offend a significant chunk of liberal U.S. Jewish opinion? Did it perhaps unwittingly play into anti-Semitic tropes about rich Jews controlling the world? Yes, yes, and yes — as she herself has since admitted and “unequivocally” apologized for. But was she wrong to note the power of the pro-Israel lobby, to point a finger at AIPAC, to highlight — in her apology — “the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics, whether it be AIPAC, the NRA or the fossil fuel industry”?

Omar Remarks Highlight Increasing Possibility That Israel Will Be Issue in 2020 – Steve Byas

February 13, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Representative Omar was pressured into backtracking her remarks, issuing a statement on Monday afternoon, “My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. We have to always be willing to step back and think through criticism, just as I expect people to hear me when others attack me for my identity. This is why I unequivocally apologize.”

Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who is himself Jewish, used the opportunity, as he often does, to attack Republicans. While conceding, “It’s never acceptable to give voice to, or repeat, anti-Semitic smears,” he added the allegation that Republican attacks on George Soros were also anti-Semitic.

It is likely that America’s relationship with Israel will be a hotly-debated topic in the 2020 presidential campaign.

Pro-Israel Lobby Caught on Tape Boasting That Its Money Influences Washington – Ryan Grim

February 12, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

A DEBATE ABOUT the power in Washington of the pro-Israel lobby is underway, after Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., responded sharply to reports that Republican leader Kevin McCarthy was targeting both Omar and fellow Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan.

Omar quoted rap lyrics — “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” — to suggest McCarthy’s move was driven by the lobby’s prolific spending. Asked specifically who she was referring to, Omar responded, “AIPAC!”

The debate over the influence of pro-Israel groups could be informed by an investigation by Al Jazeera, in which an undercover reporter infiltrated The Israel Project, a Washington-based group, and secretly recorded conversations about political strategy and influence over a six-month period in 2016. That investigation, however, was never aired by the network — suppressed by pressure from the pro-Israel lobby.
