The Ugly Truth in the Nunes Memo

February 7, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

The bottom line is that the memo exposed the ugly truth that, at least in the case of Page, the FBI and DOJ, on multiple occasions, deliberately lied to or otherwise misled the FISA court in an effort to violate Page’s Fourth Amendment rights against unlawful search and seizure, or that the FISA court is, in fact, little more than a rubber-stamp entity incapable of adequate oversight of the enormous responsibilities it has been entrusted with—or both.

At a minimum, every FBI agent and DOJ official who signed off on any aspect of Page’s FISA warrant application should be subpoenaed to appear before Congress to explain the reasoning behind their actions, and to be held accountable to the rule of law if it turns out he or she in any way suborned the truth through actions or words.

Having started down this path, the GOP members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence must now finish what they started, even if this leads to the arrest and prosecution of former and current members of the FBI and DOJ.

You don’t need any special analytical abilities to understand “the memo” and its meaning. A simple reading reveals that allegations of skullduggery by the Obama administration during the presidential campaign were entirely accurate: the memo just filled us in on the details. And while the debate has largely been over whether the proper legal procedures were followed by the FBI and administration officials in spying on Carter Page – someone only marginally connected to the Trump campaign – the real question is: why were they sneaking around Page at all?

What the Release of the Memo Tells Us About Our Country – Dave Hodges – The Common Sense Show

It is important to realize that the memo was the result of a bipartisan investigation. The Democrats enjoyed equal participation and helped write the memo. The Democrats were fine with the content of the memo so long as the classified material did not become public where the general public could see the blatant criminality of the people connected to the Obama administration, all Democrats. The moment that there was discussion of making the contents public, the Democrats claimed this was a corrupt GOP investigation only. I even heard the moron, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), tell CNN that the Russians had infiltrated the House Intelligence Committee and they were responsible for the conclusions of the memo. And if that was not bad enough, Adam Shiff (for brains) said “the only reason that the public wanted to know the contents of the memo is because they were being influenced by the Russian bots and trolls that control our internet!”

The House Intelligence Committee’s report on the FBI/DOJ deception of the FISA court has now been released. I have read the so-called “Nunes Memo.” As far as I can tell, the report from the House Intelligence Committee says exactly what the previously released Memorandum Opinion and Order from the FISA court itself says. I posted the court document — Link  — and explanations of it — Link

House Intelligence Committee Report On FISA Abuses

February 2, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

A widely anticipated House Intelligence Committee memo on alleged FISA abuses by federal authorities was just released to the public.

Read it here.

The FBI and DOJ obtained one initial FISA warrant targeting Carter Page and three FISA renewals from the FISC. As required by statute (50 U.S.C. a FISA order on an American citizen must be renewed by the ISC every 90 days and each renewal requires a separate finding of probable cause. Then-Director James Comey signed three FISA applications. in question on behalf of the FBI, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed one. Sally Yates, then-Acting DAG Dana Boente, and DAG Rod Rosenstein each signed one or more FISA applications on behalf of DOJ.

Before and after Steele was terminated as a source, he maintained contact with DOJ via then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce 0hr, a senior DOJ offcial who worked closely with Deputy Attorneys General Yates and later Rosenstein. Shortly after the election, the FBI began interviewing 0hr, documenting his communications with Steele. For example, in September 2016, Steele admitted to 0hr his feelings against then-candidate Trump when Steele said he “was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not, being president.” This clear evidence of . Steele? bias was recorded by Ohr at the time and subsequently in official FBI files but not reflected in any of the Page FISA applications.
