Episode 337 – The REAL Middle East Nuclear Threat : The Corbett Report

May 12, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

There is in fact a Middle Eastern nation that is in fact in control of a vast, undeclared stockpile of nuclear weapons. This nation does have the capability of deploying those weapons anywhere in the region. It is not a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and its arsenal has never been inspected by any international agency. But this nation is not Iran. It’s Israel.

Japan’s Secret Army — James Corbett

May 6, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

Last month, while everyone was distracted by other events, the Japanese government did something rather remarkable: They activated a marine unit. Specifically, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force activated a 1,500 man unit known as the Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade. The occasion was marked by a ceremony at Sasebo military base on the island of Kyushu.

This may not seem particularly newsworthy. After all, the activation of a single marine brigade would not be a remarkable event in virtually any other nation on the planet. But in Japan, where there has not been such a marine activation since WWII, it is extraordinary.

China’s “Nuclear Option” Myth BUSTED — Steemit

April 8, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

Tariffs, counter-tariffs and headlines about trade wars are flowing like wine as the long-anticipated Trump campaign against China is finally shaping up. Given that futures are tumbling, the US trade deficit has just hit a decade low, and, oh yeah, we haven’t seen market volatility like this since the crash of ’87 you might think we have enough ominous financial storm clouds to worry about at the moment. But (if you listen to Reuters) you’d be wrong.

China, holding Treasuries, keeps ‘nuclear option’ in U.S. trade war” blares their headline from this past Wednesday. Ah yes, the old “nuclear option” canard.

China Banning People From Transit for Bad “Social Credit” Scores : The Corbett Report

March 20, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

The slow-motion train wreck of “social credit” systems and the “gamification” of society has moved to the next stage. Now the Chinese government is going to start barring people from flying or riding trains if their social credit score is not up to snuff. China may be the test case for these ideas, but they’re already being rolled out in other countries. So what are we going to do about it?

Venezuela’s New Cryptocurrency Is A Scam : The Corbett Report

February 25, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

A perfectly predictable thing happened when the Great Oil Price Plunge of 2014 pulled the rug out from Venezuela’s oilconomy: Foreign creditors stopped lending to Venezuela, the debt-saddled government devalued the currency to cover budget deficits, inflation spiraled out of control (entering a death spiral last November), and, perhaps inevitably, the government defaulted on some of its $US bonds. (And all this amidst devastating US sanctions of the country).

The result, as anyone who has been even casually following the headlines coming out of Venezuela has no doubt noted, has also been predictable: Chaos. Pandemonium. Desperation. People eating zoo animals. As I say, we’ve all heard the horror stories.

2017: The Year of Technocracy (Confirmed!) : The Corbett Report

December 30, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

“I find it more and more difficult to shake the conviction that technological developments will shape the narrative of 2017. If this does turn out to be so, it would hardly be the start of some new, never-before-seen trend. Yet even though it’s no longer novel to observe that the pace of technological change is accelerating, there are certain inflection points where those changes stop being so theoretical and start impacting our daily lives. I contend that we are living through one such inflection point right now and that it will manifest in all sorts of ways over the next year.”

Forget Russiagate, The REAL Scandal Is Israelgate : The Corbett Report

December 16, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Almost exactly a year ago, just as the “Russia hacked the election!” delirium was taking shape, I pooh-poohed the idea that “Russiagate” (as it has come to be known) would persist for very long. Once the Trump administration started plowing ahead with its agenda, I argued, the Dems would toss Hillary aside and move on with politics as usual. Russiagate fading away as Democrats come to terms with the 2016 election? Really, James?
