Trump’s Backtrack on Summit Comments Shows Power of Intel Agencies

July 19, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

How could Trump possibly question the conclusions of an intelligence community that has grown beyond just the CIA to include other spy agencies such as the NSA? Perhaps it is because some of its leaders have been shown be to be wrong in their conclusions. And in some cases, their conclusions may be deliberately misleading.

When former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was asked by a Senate committee, “Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions, or hundreds of millions of Americans?” Clapper replied, “No sir,” adding, “not wittingly.”

Washington’s Message to North Korea: Denuclearize, Accept Neoliberalism and the “Vietnam Miracle”. Meanwhile Kim Remains on the “CIA Assassination List” | Global Research – Centre for Research on Globalization

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was in Pyongyang on a two day visit “ to press leader Kim Jong-un for details on his plans for denuclearisation.”

It was a polite and courteous welcome, Korean style.

But with Pompeo in charge of negotiations, what are the prospects?

Back in October 2017, Pompeo  hinted in no uncertain terms when he was head of the CIA:

“If Kim Jong-un suddenly dies, don’t ask me about it … “

“With respect, if Kim Jong-un should vanish, given the history of the CIA, I’m just not going to talk about it,”

“We are going to become a much more vicious agency…”

Is the leash now off the ‘Other CIA’? | Intrepid Report.com

The Central Intelligence Agency’s headquarters in Langley, Virginia, is merely the tip of a US intelligence iceberg. Much of the CIA, whether or not it is with a “wink and a nod” from its director Gina Haspel, a veteran of the agency’s extraordinary rendition and torture program, exists in the murky world of “carve out” contracts and front companies. This “unofficial CIA” is where “plausible deniability” for US intelligence actions is of paramount importance.

How John Brennan led the CIA to hack the Senate | Roger Stone | Stone Cold Truth

June 27, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

Former CIA Director John Brennan said yesterday that President Donald Trump should be removed from office due to his mental stability. It Brennan who’s mental stability- and loyalty to the United States and it’s Constitution are in question.

As CIA Director Brennan penetrated and spied on a US Senate Committee investigating torture by the CIA.

“Patently absurd,” said Senator Harry Reid. “It violates the US constitution,” is how Senator Mark Udall described it. Senator Angus King of Maine went even further and said that “it violated both the spirit and the letter of the constitutional separation of powers.”

It is hard to believe that these Democrats are talking about the Obama appointed CIA chief John Brennan under whose leadership the CIA hacked the computers of their Congressional overseers.

Gina Haspel’s New Vision for CIA? – American Free Press

June 21, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

After a bruising confirmation fight, one wonders if newly approved Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Gina Haspel will have the political support to put her own stamp on how the agency is structured and operates. Insiders note that, though she was acting director for only two months, she did little more than continue the changes made by her predecessor Mike Pompeo, who had been in charge of the agency for 15 months.

The past 17 years have seen a major change in how the CIA is organized. The Cold War agency was basically divided into two major intelligence components and included an administrative structure as well as a scientific and technical division that had their own independent functions but also worked to support intelligence operations and analysis. To put it simply, the agency consisted of one half that collected information and another half that analyzed the information collected. The operations component, itself divided into geographical regions, was a producer of intelligence, which was then processed by the analysts before going on to the consumers, which consisted of the White House, Congress, and other agencies within the government with a “need to know” that gave them access to the finished intelligence reports. The principal consumer of intelligence and the CIA’s “boss” was and is the president of the United States.

John Brennan and Osama Bin Laden: The protector and the protected? The scent of Arab money? | Non-Intervention.com

June 3, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

I have kept quiet about former-CIA Director John Brennan’s ongoing, near-hysterical tirades against President Trump and the Republicans for two reasons. First, I thought that the critical response was pretty strong and coming from commentators whose words command a large audience. Second, I had my say in this space when Brennan was nominated to the post of CIA Director.

On 1 June 2018, however, I read Brennan’s OpEd in the New York Times. It is an egregious piece of propaganda and faux nostalgia. It also infused with the author’s overweening — and thoroughly baseless – sense of self-righteousness and personal heroism. Two items in the article particularly caught my eye. The first was Brennan’s claim that he is a “non-partisan”, which is true only in the sense of his own willingness to do anything for anybody who will improve his official position and, so, his financial position. The second was his claim that in the Oval Office of four past presidents he had heard the presidents “dismiss the political concerns of their advisers, saying, “I don’t care about my politics, it’s the right thing to do.’” (1)

Democrats Confirm Torturer As Director Of CIA – PaulCraigRoberts.org

May 20, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

How did a person who should be in the criminal dock both in the US and in the International Criminal Court for running a torture prison get appointed the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency? What is all the Washington talk about defending human rights when a torturer is put in charge of covert operations?

Milosovic, the Serbia leader who tried to defend his country from Washington’s aggression, was sent by Washington to the war crimes tribunal or some such place that only tries victims of Washington’s aggression. He died in prison, some say he was murdered by Washington. The court ended up clearing him of the faked American charges. But little good that did a dead man.

But now Washington has a real criminal, a real person who has committed without any doubt “crimes against humanity” confirmed by the US Senate as CIA director. That tells us a lot about the hypocrisy, double standards, and utter mendacity of the government in Washington.

Whistleblowers exposing government wrongdoing are endangered in the US. Anyone exposing its high crimes and/or other dirty secrets is vulnerable.

Challenging the nation’s policies, no matter how heinous, risks severe punishment.

As CIA director, neocon extremist Mike Pompeo falsely accused Assange of causing “great harm to our nation’s national security.”

Potential DCI Gina Haspel: Banality of Evil !
I am against the selection of Gina Haspel as the DCI. She was/is a dedicated apparatchik of the CIA for decades. Ms Haspel was in charge of the black sites in Thailand along with her obsequious boss, Jose Rodriguez. She and Jose oversaw the egregious practice of torture against a number of so-called  terrorists.

The fact is that we now know that 9/11 was a false flag created by the CIA [George Tenet, Robert Mueller, Bush Jr, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Powell, Condi, et.al]. The notion that the CIA protected the USA or tried to elicit credible information concerning the auto-genocide of the Bush Jr administration…is patently absurd.

Will a Torturer Become CIA Director? – Consortiumnews

Given the utilitarian tone dominating the discussion, I will first address whether there is any evidence that torture “works,” and then comment on the tendency to equivocate—in what one might call a jesuitical way—about the morality of torture. I must, however, point out upfront that the civilized world has long since decided that torture is intrinsically evil: always wrong. It is also against international and domestic law, of course. But torture is not wrong because it is illegal. It is the other way around. Torture is illegal because it is just flat wrong—always.

On a Korean Peace Plan, The Role of the CIA in Setting The Agenda of the Kim-Trump Summit at the DMZ | Global Research – Centre for Research on Globalization

April 27, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

What are the dynamics which preceded the announcement of the Kim-Trump meeting scheduled for April 27th on the South side of at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)?

The CIA played a major role in the inter-Korean peace negotiations. The latter were conducive to CIA’s Mike Pompeo‘s secret visit to Pyongyang for talks with Kim Jong-un on the Easter weekend.

The Pompeo-Kim secret meeting was the result of a series of bilateral meetings between North and South Korea intelligence officials, which ultimately led to setting an agenda for the April 27 Kim-Trump meeting in Pyongyang. It would appear that a draft agreement has already formulated:

Former CIA Chief Brennan Running Scared – Consortiumnews

What prompted former CIA Director John Brennan on Saturday to accuse President Donald Trump of “moral turpitude” and to predict, with an alliterative flourish, that Trump will end up “as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history”? The answer shines through the next sentence in Brennan’s threatening tweet: “You may scapegoat Andy McCabe [former FBI Deputy Director fired Friday night] but you will not destroy America…America will triumph over you.”

Washington Breaks Out the “Just Following Orders” Nazi Defense for CIA Director-Designate Gina Haspel

March 16, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

John Kiriakou, a former CIA operative who helped capture many Al Qaeda prisoners, recently said that Haspel was known to some at the agency as “Bloody Gina” and that “Gina and people like Gina did it, I think, because they enjoyed doing it. They tortured just for the sake of torture, not for the sake of gathering information.” (In 2012, in a convoluted case, Kiriakou pleaded guilty to leaking the identity of a covert CIA officer to the press and spent a year in prison.)

Some of Haspel’s champions have used the exact language of the popular version of the Nuremberg defense, while others have paraphrased it.

In The Western World Insanity Reigns – PaulCraigRoberts.org

President Trump has nominated a person, Gina Haspel, to be CIA Director who is deeply implicated in CIA torture and destruction of the evidence. LINK

The Republicans want to confirm her as “an excellent choice.” One assumes the feminists also favor confirmation as she is female. That she is a woman, a torturer and destroyed incriminating evidence qualifies her to be CIA Director. Compare her treatment to General Michael Flynn’s. Trump abandoned Flynn as National Security Advisor on a nothing charge and puts in charge of the CIA a person who the ACLU calls the “central figure in one of the most illegal and shameful chapters in modern American history” and a “war criminal.”

PART ONE | PART TWO | PART THREE

This is the first part of a three-part article.

An extraordinary number of former intelligence and military operatives from the CIA, Pentagon, National Security Council and State Department are seeking nomination as Democratic candidates for Congress in the 2018 midterm elections. The potential influx of military-intelligence personnel into the legislature has no precedent in US political history.

If the Democrats capture a majority in the House of Representatives on November 6, as widely predicted, candidates drawn from the military-intelligence apparatus will comprise as many as half of the new Democratic members of Congress. They will hold the balance of power in the lower chamber of Congress.

Trump’s “Spontaneous” Decision to Meet Kim Jong-un, Or was it the CIA’s Decision? | Global Research – Centre for Research on Globalization

Trump’s Decision to Meet Kim Jong-un

In all likelihood Trump’s decision was approved at the highest levels of US intelligence.

There was nothing spontaneous in Trump’s statement. It was staged.

No doubt he had been advised both by Pompeo and McMcmaster. His announcement followed the briefing by the head of the South Korean Delegation, ROK National Security Advisor Chung Eui-Yong, who had led the mission to Pyongyang on March 6.  Mr Chung briefed president Trump, who immediately and spontaneously confirmed his decision.

US Meddling in Foreign Elections: A CIA Tradition Since 1948

March 8, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

In a shocking display of relative independence from the post-Operation Mockingbird control of the media by the Central Intelligence Agency, a recent article in The New York Times broke with current conventional pack journalism and covered the long history of CIA meddling in foreign elections. A February 17, 2018, article, titled, “Russia Isn’t the Only One Meddling in Elections. We Do It, Too,” authored by Scott Shane – who covered the perestroika and glasnost for The Baltimore Sun in Moscow from 1988 to 1991 during the final few years of the Soviet Union – reported the US has interfered in foreign elections for decades. However, a couple of old US intelligence hands were quoted in the article as saying the US meddling was for altruistic purposes. The CIA veterans charged that Russia interferes in foreign elections for purely malevolent purposes. The belief that American interference in global elections was to promote liberal democracy could not be further from the truth.

Ray McGovern’s First Day as CIA Director – Antiwar.com Blog

Now that I have been nominated again – this time by author Paul Craig Roberts – to be CIA director, I am preparing to hit the ground running.

Last time my name was offered in nomination for the position – by The Nation publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel – I did not hold my breath waiting for a call from the White House. Her nomination came in the afterglow of my fortuitous, four-minute debate with then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, when I confronted him on his lies about the attack on Iraq, on May 4, 2006 on national TV. Since it was abundantly clear that Rumsfeld and I would not get along, I felt confident I had royally disqualified myself.
