“My attorney [Larry Klayman of Judicial Watch] just wrote a letter to the Justice Department trying to get them to drop that appeal,” he told AFP. “They haven’t dropped it yet and they indicated they’re going forward with it. . . . You know, it’s Judge Navarro . . . I feel like she’s the one who needs to defend her decision there. But the attorneys don’t look at it that way, and they think they’ve got to get in there and have a big battle.”

Bundy agreed that this would violate double jeopardy, but the government doesn’t seem to care.

“They’re questioning [Judge Navarro’s] decision and sending her decision to the Ninth Circuit for appeal. I don’t see how they can do that, but the government just seems like they’re after me. They don’t care what they do. They’re going to get me one way or the other, I guess.”

Senate Vote to Pull U.S. Troops Out of Yemen Was Important – American Free Press

January 3, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

This is serious news, though you wouldn’t know it based on the near-complete lack of coverage in the corporate media. For the first time, Congress has taken action under the War Powers Act, something Americans have been demanding of their representatives at least since the beginning of the Iraq War. As Dr. Paul notes, this is important, and we should let our senators know we are watching and that we appreciate the action taken by those who voted yes.

Trump’s Foreign Policy Remains Muddled – American Free Press – Ron Paul

After a week of insisting that a meeting with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Argentina was going to happen, President Donald Trump at the last minute sent out a statement explaining that due to a Russia-Ukraine dispute in the Sea of Azov he would no longer be willing to meet his Russian counterpart.

According to Trump, the meeting had to be cancelled because the Russians seized three Ukrainian naval vessels in Russian waters that refused to follow instructions from the Russian military. But as Pat Buchanan wrote in a recent column: How is this little dispute thousands of miles away any of our business?

Will Congress Ban Boycotts of Israel? – American Free Press – Philip Giraldi

On Dec. 6, the House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution appropriations bill that will keep the government funded until Dec. 20. By that date it is anticipated that an omnibus end-of-year bill extending that spending authority for 2019 will be completed, assuming that a deal on funding President Donald Trump’s border wall can be worked out.

No one would be surprised if the final appropriations package that comes out of the process will be ill-considered and full of pork for individual congressmen and districts. One trick used to pass legislation that would otherwise fail is to attach a bill anonymously (no name and no number) to the spending bill, which must be passed in one form or another if the government is to continue to function.

One such attachment that has currently and somewhat mysteriously appeared is reportedly entitled “Consideration of Legislation Making Further Appropriations for 2019.” Bills attached in that fashion will become law without debate or being subjected to any challenge from opponents.

Pentagon Fails Its First Audit—Badly – American Free Press

December 9, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

The Pentagon has finally completed its first-ever audit, and the results are as many of us expected. After spending nearly a billion dollars to find out what has happened to trillions in unaccounted-for spending, the long look through the books has concluded that only 10% of all Pentagon agencies pass muster. I am surprised any of them did.

Even the Pentagon is not surprised by the failure of the audit. “We failed the audit, but we never expected to pass it,” said Deputy Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan. Can we imagine any large U.S. company subject to the prying eyes of the IRS being so unfazed by the discovery that its books have been so mishandled?

Global Pushback Against Israel Rises – American Free Press – Philip Giraldi

December 5, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

One of the remarkable aspects of the Israeli government’s program to turn the United States into a vassal state that exists to provide money, political support, and military interventions to destroy adversaries like Iran is the complete lack of any debate on the issue in the U.S. mainstream media or in Congress. But there are signs that at least some of that might be changing. The election of at least three Democratic congresswomen—Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—who might be willing to discuss Israel in something less than worshipful ways is an only miniscule shift in the alignment of the Democratic party, where Jewish money dominates, but it reflects the views of the party’s grassroots. A recent poll demonstrates that surveyed Democrats favor Israel over Palestine by a margin of only 2%—27% versus 25%—with the remainder of responders favoring neither side.

2018 Could Be 2016 All Over Again – American Free Press

Am I the only one who thinks the 2018 midterm election smells an awful lot like the 2016 presidential election? In both cases the punditry and media have been promising an easy win for the Democrats, in many cases predicting that the GOP will lose control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. One might argue that those who are praising the Democrats are themselves committed establishment progressives who hate Trump and would hardly do otherwise, but winning will require selling something to voters that is more than that hatred combined with negative vibes for some women coming out of the Kavanaugh hearings.

On issues that really matter the Democrats are still clueless and continue to be a party that reactively plays both a “blame the Russians” and a “diversity” card to confuse, divide, and conquer rather than presenting any programs that would actually resonate positively with voters.

White Farmers Say ‘Da’ to Putin’s Asylum Offer – American Free Press

For many South African farmers, who have witnessed their country descend from a first-rate economic marvel to a country now barely registering on the Human Development Index—with an unemployment rate approaching 60%—enough is enough. A good number of these hard-working folk have pulled up stakes and headed to the Russian grasslands between Ukraine and Kazakhstan, where more than 65% of the land is dedicated to agriculture.

A large part of the exodus has been brought on by South Africa’s government, led by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who “has pledged to return the lands owned by white farmers since the 1600s to the black citizens of the country.” The South African government “is planning to put an end to what it calls the legacy of apartheid, where most of South Africa’s land is still in the hands of its minority white population.”

Ever since blacks supplanted whites in South Africa’s governing structure, the country has been on a downward tear, with regular rolling electricity blackouts and the world’s highest murder rate, as well as one of the highest rates of rape on the planet.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has publicly accused Israel of being culpable for the downing of a Russian military aircraft in Syria on the evening of Monday, Sept. 17, resulting in the death of 15 Russian service members. The tragic international incident has received scant media coverage in the West but has many serious observers of Middle Eastern affairs wondering if Israel—blindly supported and financed by the United States—is on the verge of provoking WWIII with its blatant military aggression, utter disdain for international law, and outrageous arrogance.

The downed Russian aircraft, a Soviet-era Ilyushin IL-20 surveillance and control plane, was on a reconnaissance mission near the Idlib de-escalation zone in Syria on the evening of Sept. 17, when four Israeli F-16 fighter jets—compliments of the Pentagon—left Israeli airspace and flew over the Mediterranean Sea to carry out an unprovoked attack on various Syrian targets, essentially using the larger Russian aircraft as cover for their assault.

Retired U.S. Air Force (USAF) Lt. Col. and Pentagon whistleblower Karen Kwiatkowski, who exposed a “neoconservative coup” and a “hijacking of the Pentagon” by neocons serving Israel’s interest, sat down with this reporter to reflect on the false-flag terror attacks that changed the course of this country, clearly for the worse.

Kwiatkowski, who retired in 2003 after a distinguished military career, was at one time assigned to the National Security Agency (NSA), eventually becoming a speechwriter for the agency’s director. Upon leaving the NSA, she served as an analyst in the Pentagon’s Near East and South Asia directorate, and doesn’t for a minute subscribe to the U.S. government’s 9/11 conspiracy theory.

Regime Change a Recipe for War in Iran – American Free Press

Sixty-five years after a CIA-inspired coup overthrew a democratically elected Iranian government to install a pro-Western puppet regime, the Trump administration has announced its intention to once again force regime change in Iran.

The 1953 coup led by the U.S. was a disgraceful episode in the history of U.S. foreign policy and involved the British, who were determined to control Iran’s oil riches.

Today, the decision by President Donald Trump to use America’s power once again to interfere with Iran’s internal politics does not have the backing of America’s NATO allies, including Turkey, and is also opposed by Russia and China.

The Department of Justice has appealed the ruling of a Nevada judge who dismissed the department’s case against Cliven Bundy et al. on the grounds of prosecutorial misconduct, evidently intent on seeing the land-rights protesters jailed.

Former federal prosecutor Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, issued a press release earlier in August on behalf of his client, Cliven Bundy, vowing to fight a Department of Justice appeal of a judge’s dismissal of the case against Bundy for his role in the spring 2014 protest against federal land tyranny in Nevada.

In January, U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro dismissed conspiracy charges against Bundy, his two sons, and fellow protestor Ryan Payne after finding prosecutors violated federal law and unjustly failed to share with the court evidence favorable to the defendants. Later, on July 31, Judge Navarro rejected the prosecutors’ request to reconsider her dismissal of the case.

While the mainstream media continue to wail about how President Donald Trump’s application of tariffs on imports will only incite “trade wars” and could not possibly generate even a single shipping crate’s worth of benefits, an early-August UBS Investor Watch poll says otherwise.

According to the poll, 71% of business owners, from both small and large companies, support levying additional tariffs on Chinese goods. In addition, more than 70% of business owners have a positive one-year outlook on the state of the economy.

Russian Witch Hunt Never Ends – American Free Press

I am somewhat perplexed about the furor over alleged “Russian spy” Maria Butina, a 29-year-old Russian woman currently living in Washington, who was arrested three weeks ago and charged with conspiracy in acting as an agent of the Russian government tasked with developing ties with American citizens and infiltrating certain political groups. She is reportedly being held in solitary confinement and not allowed bail as she is considered a “flight risk.”

Miss Butina, a student at American University and a co-founder of the pro-gun rights Russian advocacy organization Right to Bear Arms, is charged with operating under the direction of Alexander Torshin, a high-level official reportedly close to President Vladimir Putin who currently works for the Russian Central Bank. According to the Justice Department, Torshin was recently sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control over information provided by the Spanish government indicating that he has been involved in the past in money laundering, a charge which he denies.

The Mysterious ‘Others’ Who Compromise National Security – American Free Press

President Donald Trump reckoned on Monday that the United States intelligence community (IC) just might be overreaching in its assessment that Russia had sought to interfere in the 2016 U.S. election but then decided on Tuesday that he misspoke and had the greatest confidence in the IC and now agrees that they were correct in their judgment. But Trump, interestingly, added that there “could be other people also” that had been involved in interfering in the election, presumably either in an attempt to understand what was going on or to subvert it, though he was not specific and the national media has chosen not to pursue the admittedly cryptic comment. Many inside-the-Beltway pundits believe that he was primarily referring to China, both due to possible motive and to the possession of the necessary technical resources to carry out such an operation.

Indeed, the China hypothesis gains strength because there are credible reports that China may have hacked the 30,000 Hillary Clinton emails that are apparently still missing. China also was described as America’s principal enemy last week by The Spectator, which denounced Russiagate as much ado about nothing, citing Byron York of the Washington Examiner who described the enterprise as “. . . a small, poorly funded operation with a level of effectiveness that is impossible to measure but could be near zero” before also observing that:

With the July 27 announcement that the U.S. economy had grown by over 4%, the mainstream media has been forced to concede that President Donald Trump has had a banner first term pushing through his America-first agenda. Even CNN, often called the “Clinton News Network” for its non-stop sycophantic coverage of the Clintons, this month had to admit that it’s a “golden age” for Trump.

So let’s take a moment to acknowledge what Trump has accomplished in the year-and-a-half he has been in office.

With the U.S. economy booming along at 4.1% growth, cable business network CNBC reports this is the fastest rate of growth in four years and the third best growth rate in the last decade. Following the economic indicators announcement, Trump told reporters, “We’re on track to hit the highest annual growth rate in over 13 years.”

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on June 12 stamped the relevant documents and finally officially agreed to review a “King’s Bench” petition filed by a citizen under the auspices of noted monetary-reform activist Mickey Paoletta. This development represents a significant step forward in Paoletta’s 35 years of effort to expose the corrupt banking system and its allies in the legal field. But getting the high court to move this matter forward was grueling.

“They put us through pure hell for seven or eight days in a row, but they accepted it—reluctantly,” Paoletta told AFP, referring to what he and embattled York, Penn. homeowner-petitioner Christopher Inch experienced. “There’s corruption in the highest places, and more and more people know what’s up. They want it stopped.”

A jury found five self-described antifascist activists not guilty of two separate misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a violent attack on a Trump supporter in March 2017 at the conclusion of a contentious trial at the Alameda County Superior Courthouse in Oakland, Calif. Oakland is a short distance from Berkeley, Calif., which was the scene of multiple violent clashes involving Trump supporters, free-speech activists, and other right-leaning patriots on one  side and bands of antifa, anti-Trump activists, and other radical leftwing groups on the other.

On March 4, 2017, supporters of President Donald Trump organized a “March on Berkeley,” one of a number of protests and rallies in recent years that pitted pro-Trump and anti-Trump activists against each other in the iconic college town. As is typical of pro-Trump rallies and events, violence quickly broke out between supporters and opponents of the president, despite the presence of police.

In the wake of a high-profile settlement the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) recently reached with an anti-extremism group, nearly four dozen nonprofit leaders representing conservative-leaning organizations issued a joint statement condemning the SPLC and intimating that a massive lawsuit will likely be launched against the radical activist group.

According to a recent press release, 47 leaders of various conservative and right-leaning nonprofit organizations issued what they described as a “Joint Statement by Organizations Defamed by the Southern Poverty Law Center,” describing how their respective organizations have been smeared and defamed by the SPLC in the past. Expressing gratitude that “the SPLC has formally acknowledged that it has engaged in such misrepresentations” by settling with Maajid Nawaz and his anti-extremism organization the Quilliam Foundation for $3.375 million, the leaders argued that the organization is simply “a leftist instrument of political warfare against those with whom it disagrees,” and that the organization “deserves the infamy it has lately earned.”

It took roughly a century and a half to erect all of the nation’s Confederate monuments. A June 4 report from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) shows that since Dylann Roof shot nine black churchgoers in South Carolina three years ago, back on June 17, 2015, Confederate monuments are being torn down at the rapid pace of about three each month.

Some monuments were removed from prominent locations to great fanfare, like the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina statehouse grounds by former Gov. Nikki Haley or the removal by Mayor Mitch Landrieu of the four Confederate statues in New Orleans. But in most cases, like in Baltimore and in Memphis, city officials secretly removed Confederate monuments in the dead of night.

All told, at least 110 monuments to the Confederacy have been removed across the country in the last three years. Still, according to the same SPLC report, more than 1,728 listed monuments remain. And these do not include references to the Confederacy in museums, or the markers on hundreds of battlefields.
