Human Liberty Is Doomed

March 14, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

Any discussion on liberty presupposes an understanding of human nature. Today, the utter confusion and distorted mindset of humankind, relegates animal instincts, as the premier motivation for salacious existence. The criteria for a cordial civilization have long been “consigned to the dustbins of history”. Standards for civil and moral conduct are debased by a global disintegration to achieve the ‘good’ for the hunt of acting ‘nice’. Polite and pleasant facades are no substitute for truth and meaning. Yet, the heights of evil transactions seem to be hailed routinely, as the only achievement that power hungry sociopaths aspire to impose on the rest of the planet. Never-ending conflict is inherent in the human condition, while the state of liberty is unusual and resides within the character of the ethical spirit.

No Change in Foreign Policy from 2016 Standard-bearers

March 8, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

With all the turmoil and uncertainty coming from this election cycle, one constant is already known. U.S. Foreign Policy is well under the control of the international interventionists. The career globalists on the American payroll continue to push for more and greater engagements. Step back and consider the premise. Seldom is there an international involvement that is not eagerly embraced, funded and expanded. Based upon this premise, the record of continued failures is better understood. The systemic decline of a once great nation has developed into a pathetic deterioration of an imperial empire.

The Republican Convention and the Ron Paul Revolution

March 7, 2016 by · 1 Comment

The Grand Old Party produced a scripted appeal to the faithful. The 2012 Republican Party convention in Tampa, designed to sell a filtered image of a country club version of conservatism, begs the historic substance of a traditional embodiment of true timeless values. Hitting a range of obligatory themes is not equivalent to standing for the principles of a constitutional republic. Appealing to the estranged elements of the GOP needs more than words to restore faith and hope. Reasoned policy stands require a refutation of the failure of the Neoconservative agenda. So do not be duped by the language in the platform.

WELL DONE MR. TRUMP!!! Israel-First, Neocons to join Hillary, all America’s enemies in one party

March 3, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

The disloyal Israel-First/Neoconservative (IF/NC) crowd seems to be having a collective and hopefully fatal seizure over Mr. Trump’s pledge to be strictly even-handed and neutral in the ongoing war between Israel and the Arabs — a war both sides clearly intend to fight to the death.

Now, many past presidential candidates have said much the same thing, but they have always added that silly, ahistorical mantra that the United States will defend Israel’s “right to exist”. But Trump did not add that mantra of the brain-dead, and so has markedly distressed the Israel-Firsters and Neocons. Indeed, they always have opposed Trump because, it seems, they sense that he will always put America first and let those individuals, nations, and groups irrelevant to the republic’s security and economic prosperity swing in the wind. I think — or at least hope — they are right.

Foreign Ownership Translates into Higher Electric Bills

March 2, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

What exactly is a public utility? If you listen to the government officials in New York State, a foreign company is just dandy and will qualify from the Public Service Commission as a provider of electricity. While this may be old news, the continued adverse fallout from foreign ownership can no longer be flittered away. The latest approval of rate increases goes as an example of how the entire political favoritism system operates. The Buffalo N.Y. News reports, You’re likely to see higher electric bills soon.

How much did Barack Obama rip-off while President?

March 1, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

Americans are most forgiving of their former Presidents. When they leave office, most people forget about all the shenanigans and sweet heart arrangements. On the surface, Obama looks like a relative novice when compared to the Bushes and Clintons. Hey, give him a little slack. He is just ready to get started. By any evaluation, the net worth of the Obama’s is mere chump change from the rarified air of the Trump Towers. Making money at the end of the office term is understandable. Few folks would expect Obama to be the next Jimmy Carter, when he has to pay for his own golf vacations.

Pre-emption and Unilateralism

February 29, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

Foreign policy affects everyone, but few concern themselves with the details. The “Big Picture” is ignored for the fallacy of immediate gratification. Instant satisfaction defies enduring security. The trap that most citizens fall into, is that the subject is just too complex to bother with, what can one person do? The experts know best, they will protect us! If this mindset is realistic, why is the world such a political mess? But more to the point, why does the United States have so many antagonists, devoted to restraining a suspect superpower?

Media Moguls Cash in on another Election

February 24, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

No matter what you think about political campaigns, most would certainly agree that they are very expensive. The networks and cable broadcasters have reaped huge profits from the carnival cycle of campaigning entertainment. Civility is simply not good for business. Enlightened discourse is boring and the high moral plane is only good for losers. Much like watching the carnage from a war zone or street riots in the hood, the TV cameras focus on the most controversial confrontations and ignore calls of cooperation. Politics is just too good of a blood sport to allow a modifying influence to temper down the mudslinging.

Of Justice Scalia, the Constitution, Obama’s tyranny, and Cuba

February 23, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

President Obama’s unilateral and so illegal decision to restart his and Mrs. Clinton’s personal and Africa-ruining war in Libya is a good reminder of what America lost with the death of Justice Scalia. Whether or not you agreed with Justice Scalia’s decisions, you could at least be confident that he was one of the three justices on the Supreme Court — the others being Justice Alito and Justice Thomas — who knew what and why the Founders put what they did in the Constitution, and that they intended its clear language to be interpreted in a manner that did not read into the text things that are not there and that are meant to contribute to the building of a tyrannical national government.

Nationalism and Populism Propel Trump

February 23, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

If Beltway Republicans think they can stop Trump and turn back the movement behind him, and continue on with today’s policies on trade, immigration and intervention, they will be swept into the same dustbin of history as the Rockefeller Republicans.

America is saying, “Goodbye to all that.”

For Trump is not only a candidate. He is a messenger from Middle America. And the message he is delivering to the establishment is: We want an end to your policies and we want an end to you.

If the elites think they can not only deny Trump the nomination, but turn back this revolution and re-establish themselves in the esteem of the people, they delude themselves.

This is hubris of a high order.

BATR is a comprehensive view on the human condition. Several sites comprise this anthology. The emphasis stresses an in-depth analysis of the realpolitik that influences society and the individual. Ideology matters. In an age where the right and left distinctions are obsolete and misleading, asking the crucial questions is essential.

Essays written under the nom de plume, SARTRE are presented on Reign of Terror, Stuck on Stupid, Totalitarian Collectivism, Radical Reactionary, Inherent Autonomy, Global Gulag, View from the Mount, Strappado Wrack, Dueling Twins, Solitary Purdah, Corporatocracy and Negotium. Archives for each series are available from their respected sites.

Integrity, insight and intelligence are sorely lacking. BATR attempts to fill a void that is often missing. Content is bold and provocative. Commentary is the essence of BATR. No subject is off limits, no authority immune from criticism and no power above accountability.

BREAKING ALL THE RULES is genuine "paleo" conservative populism you can trust.
