The Official James Petras website » Julian Assange and the Agenda for Global War

April 18, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

For almost a decade Washington has sought to silence, jail and eliminate the world’s most prominent investigative journalist, Julian Assange (JA) and his team of coworkers at Wilkileaks (WL).

Never has the mass media been so thoroughly discredited by official documents which directly contradict the official propaganda, mouthed by political leaders and parroted by ‘leading’ journalists.

Washington is particularly intent on capturing JA because his revelations have had a particularly powerful impact on the US public, political critics, the alternative media and human rights groups in turning them against US wars in the Middle East, South Asia, Africa and Latin America.

U.S. Intelligence Institutionally Politicized Toward Democrats – Bill Gertz

April 18, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

The CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies have become bastions of political liberals and the pro-Democratic Party views of intelligence personnel have increased under President Donald Trump, according to a journal article by a former CIA analyst.

John Gentry, who spent 12 years as a CIA analyst, criticized former senior intelligence leaders, including CIA Director John Brennan, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former deputy CIA director Michael Morell, along with former analyst Paul Pillar, for breaking decades-long prohibitions of publicly airing their liberal political views in attacking Trump.

The institutional bias outlined in a lengthy article in the quarterly International Journal of Intelligence and Counterintelligence risks undermining the role of intelligence in support of government leaders charged with making policy decisions.

VIPS Fault Mueller Probe, Criticize Refusal to Interview Assange – Consortiumnews

April 18, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

You may be unaware that in March 2017 lawyers for Assange and the Justice Department (acting on behalf of the CIA) reportedly were very close to an agreement under which Assange would agree to discuss “technical evidence ruling out certain parties” in the leak of the DNC emails” and agree to redact some classified CIA information, in exchange for limited immunity. According to the investigative reporter John Solomon of The Hill, Sen. Mark Warner, D,VA, Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, learned of the incipient deal and told then-FBI Director Comey, who ordered an abrupt“stand down” and an end to the discussions with Assange.

Why did Comey and Warner put the kibosh on receiving “technical evidence ruling out certain parties [read Russia]? We won’t insult you with the obvious answer. Assange is now in prison, to the delight of so many — including Mrs. Clinton who has said Assange must now “answer for what he has done.”

On the Contrary: Blaming the Romans and Pilate for Killing Jesus – Michael Hoffman

April 18, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

The fact that Christ praised a Roman officer above everyone in Israel (Matthew 8:5-13), and that the Roman administrator Pilate urgently sought to save Christ’s life, calling him a just man, and being threatened by a mob of Jews as a result, is washed down the memory hole.
Moreover, the disinformation that renders the Romans the main malefactors is undercut by none other than the Babylonian Talmud itself, in Sanhedrin 43a, where it is stated that the Romans were favorable toward Jesus and did not want to execute him:
“Rather it must be that the case against Jesus was different, because he had close connections with the non-Jewish authorities, and those authorities were interested in his acquittal.”

The Greatest Threat to Our Freedom of Speech Rights? – American Free Press

April 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

For the last 50 years, except for one case, the so-called 1968 Federal Anti-Riot Act lay dormant and forgotten, but now the Justice Department has revived this constitutional monster, awakening it because of media outrage over the Charlottesville turmoil. Its revival represents the greatest current threat to our First Amendment rights.

Last October, teams of FBI agents swooped down on eight young men for allegedly intending to incite a riot and for conspiring to riot. The men are accused of violating 18 U.S.C. §2101 and 18 U.S.C. §2102, the Federal Anti-Riot Act of 1968.

The act was Congress’s heavy-handed response to the anti-war, civil rights, and counterculture disturbances of the late 1960s, particularly the riots in Washington, D.C. that followed the assassination of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A pall of smoke still hung over Washington, D.C. and troops circled the Capitol when the act was enacted on April 11. The act was specifically designed to battle social dissent and was based on the idea that sinister groups of “outside agitators” were riling up students and blacks. It was first used to prosecute the Chicago Eight, the leaders of the protests at the 1968 Democratic convention.

Julian Assange is mighty low on the list of those “endangering American lives” | Non-Intervention2 – Michael Scheuer

April 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Julian Assange’s post-arrest situation is being used by the bipartisan U.S. political elite and mainstream media to add additional chaos to the public square, this on the eve of the reckoning that the Constitution and President Trump and his team are soon going to deliver to those who have robbed the republic of two-plus years of its life.

Assange, of course had nothing to do with the so-called Russian interference in the 2016 election – the claim of which has been a hoax since the start – nor did he join the Russians to hack Podesta and DNC e-mails. The latter were stolen by that rare DNC official, Seth Rich, who balked at the corruption the DNC was using to ensure Hillary Clinton’s nomination. He apparently downloaded the e-mails onto a flash-drive – a process proven a senior NSA internet expert via his examination of the time it took to download the data – and then passed the e-mails to Assange’s people in a manner about which I am ignorant. Rich paid for this action with his life, probably murdered by DNC-paid, illegal MS-13 immigrants, and then left to die in a Washington hospital room as DNC Chair Donna Brazile reportedly patrolled the corridors until Rich breathed his last. Hopefully, Brazile will be among those who are administered a hefty dose of painful constitutional retribution, and has time to think about it before she is hung.

Trump Dances to Israel’s Tune, by Philip Giraldi – The Unz Review

April 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

So newly reelected Israeli monster-in-chief Benjamin Netanyahu has boasted, with a grin, that America’s President Donald J. Trump followed through on his proposal to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a terrorist group. Bibi was smiling because the timing of the move, one day before the Israeli election, strongly suggests it was done to assist him against what had become a very strong opposition challenge. That Trump likely colluded with Netanyahu to blatantly interfere in the election has apparently bothered no one in Israel or in the tame American media.

The gift from Washington came on top of recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, threatening members of the International Criminal Court if they try to prosecute Israel for war crimes, moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, removing the word “occupation” from the State Department’s assessments of human rights infringements on the West Bank, eliminating relief funding for Palestinian refugees, leaving the U.N. Human Rights Council because it was too critical of Israel, and looking the other way as Israel declared itself a state only for Jews. Washington also ignored the bombing of hospitals, schools and water treatment infrastructure in Gaza while Israeli army snipers were shooting unarmed demonstrators demanding their freedom.

AIPAC and the Federal Election Commission | Intrepid Report.com – Renee Parsons

April 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Reviewing AIPAC’s history since its 1963 creation reveals a consistently well organized campaign of manipulation and evasion of the US election law as one necessary ingredient to its invincible image on Capitol Hill. The American Israel Political Affairs Committee has long claimed it is not a political action committee, that it does not endorse candidates nor provide financial donations to political campaigns. As with all things involving AIPAC, there is another side to the story.

As the result of a 1988 Sixty Minutes interview by Mike Wallace, it became clear that AIPAC had a long history of involvement in US electoral politics as it targeted non-AIPAC members of  Congress for defeat with the use of “80 shell-front pro-Israel PACs.” Unfortunately, Wallace never inquired whether AIPAC was in compliance with the Federal Election Commission laws. It comes as no surprise to know it was not and continues to resist efforts at accountability or adhering to the standard rule of registering as a foreign entity.

The Takedown Of Julian Assange: An Existential Threat To Independent Media – News With Views – Steven Yates

April 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

The number of truly independent truth-tellers has dwindled over the years. Those I know of would fit in my front room.

The journalism profession as a whole — like academia — sold out long ago. All one has to do to see the level of shilling is turn on CNN or MSNBC or any major network, possibly except Fox News some of the time. As for the latter, folks like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson have suffered personal attacks in this era of hoked up accusations of “sexual misconduct” and bogus allegations of “racism.”

If Julian Assange comes to a bad end, mass media and social media will get worse. We’ll see mainstream “news” descend even further into a insipid mixture of feel-good trivia, blatant propaganda, and mindless entertainment. We’ll see more and more reportage conducted in the Twitterverse, where character limits preclude deep thought.

What we won’t see is another WikiLeaks to expose the powerful and challenge dominant narratives.

Mayor Pete and the Crackup of Christianity | Patrick J. Buchanan – Official Website

April 16, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Mayor Pete’s assertion — that God made him gay, and God intended that he live his life this way, and that this life is moral and good — is another milestone on the road to a new America.

For what Buttigieg is saying is that either God changes his moral law to conform to the changing behavior of mankind or that, for 2,000 years, Christian preaching and practice toward homosexuals has been bigoted, injurious and morally indefensible.

If Pete is right, since the time of Christ, Christians have ostracized and persecuted gays simply for being and behaving as God intended.

And if that is true, what is the defense of Christianity?

The Fake Charge Against Julian Assange Proves That the US Government Has No Integrity – PaulCraigRoberts.org

April 16, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

As both the US and UK governments are more corrupt than the Soviet government was and refuse to abide by international law, Assange was their prisoner in the embassy. He was safe there as long as Rafael Correa was president of Ecuador. But when Correa refused popular demand to let the Constitution be changed so that he could serve another term, Washington got its creep installed, Lenin Moreno, who sold Assange to Washington for an IMF loan.

To be sure you understand, as you have been filled with lies about Assange for almost a decade, he raped no one. He was never charged with raping anyone. He has broken no law. He is a journalist who did nothing but what the New York Times did when the paper published the leaked Pentagon Papers and published some of the same leaked documents for which Assange has been arrested for publishing. He is being framed up on a false nonsense charge because the US government in order to protect its own criminality is moving to destroy the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

They will succeed in destroying the First Amendment.

Julian Assange and the Sins of the World – Antiwar.com Original – Justin Raimondo

April 16, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

There’s only been one person – so far – who suffered for the sins of the world and either saved us a lot of trouble or else caused us a lot of unnecessary grief. All I know is that a lot of people are hoping for His return – and for a better outcome.

As for myself, I fully expect a repeat of the previous scenario: the message, the betrayal, the persecution, and a torturous death.

They isolated Julian in the days before they hauled him out for the public display of his martyrdom. No crucifix this time. No crown of thorns. Just a penumbra of the deepest silence, which grips the very air: yet still he remains unbowed, his head held high.

The Rutherford Institute :: From Jesus Christ to Julian Assange: When Dissidents Become Enemies of the State | By John W. Whitehead |

April 16, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

When exposing a crime is treated as committing a crime, you are being ruled by criminals.

In the current governmental climate, where laws that run counter to the dictates of the Constitution are made in secret, passed without debate, and upheld by secret courts that operate behind closed doors, obeying one’s conscience and speaking truth to the power of the police state can render you an “enemy of the state.”

That list of so-called “enemies of the state” is growing.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is merely the latest victim of the police state’s assault on dissidents and whistleblowers.

Julian Assange is the Latest John Peter Zenger

April 16, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

No one should be astonished that Julian Assange was forcibly dragged out of the Ecuadorian embassy by British authorities. Arresting the Wikileaks journalist on charges of failure to appear in a British court has long been used as an excuse to prevent him from escaping their jurisdiction. The underlying demand from establishment protectors is to extradite Assange to American soil for prosecution on accusations that could incarcerate him for life in some super max top-security prison. Assessments of this Australian citizen as an enemy of the state (primary America) is now being played out by the intelligence community controlled media, as the public is brainwashed with their false narrative.

Punishing the Past, Impeding the Future: the Arrest of Assange – Counter Punch – GIORGIO AGAMBEN

April 15, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

I met Assange two years ago at the Embassy of Ecuador in London, and remembering what he had told me during our encounter I think one can understand why he was arrested today. Assange mentioned to me that he was investigating how Google was planning to make use of the immense quantity of information at its disposal. It had to do with, according to Assange, selling to insurance companies and secret services data about the interests, desires, consumption habits, state of health, reading practices…in a nutshell data about the life of millions of individuals in all its aspects.

According to Assange—and I believe we can share his view—this would mean an unprecedented increase in the possible ways of controlling human beings through the powers of the market and the police. What is at the core of Assange’s arrest is, therefore, not only the desire to punish past WikiLeaks investigations, but to impede investigations currently underway that evidently all those implicated seem to be threatened by. It is also for this reason that it is necessary to express unreserved solidarity with Assange.

Guess who killed our freedom of speech? – John Kaminski

April 15, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Once upon a time, U.S. politicians use to brag about how America was the only place in the world that permitted genuine freedom of speech. Of course, like everything else they say, that turned out to be a lie. Perhaps it is the greatest lie we have ever heard in our lifetimes.

In fact, America has traded its Constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech for laws protecting the very people aiming to destroy the country.

We’ve lost our First Amendment, you know? Yes, that’s the one that claims to protect our Freedom of Speech. Hell, most Americans don’t know or care whether it exists or not, but the implications for everyone are ominous. Already in Michigan lawmakers are making of list of people who oppose government lies. My Final Visit with Julian Assange – The Intercept – Charles Glass

April 15, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

Wikileaks’ collaborators were a consortium of the world’s leading newspapers, the New York Times, London’s Guardian, El Pais of Spain, and Paris’s Le Monde. If Assange violated the law, they were in it with him.

On May 24, 2017, Lenín Boltaire Moreno Garcés became president of Ecuador and Assange’s life changed. An ally of President Donald Trump in need of IMF loans, Moreno replaced the ambassador with a functionary hostile to Assange’s presence in the embassy. Although the previous regime had granted Assange citizenship, based on five-plus years on what is legally Ecuadorian soil, the new government cut his internet and telephone access and restricted the number of visitors. Embassy staff changed. The new functionaries became less cordial to visitors like myself and were visibly hostile to Assange. Then, last Thursday, Moreno cast aside the principle of political asylum and told the British police to come and get him. The U.S. presented the indictment that Assange had said all along was waiting for him. And so Assange waits to know whether he will ever be free again, while journalists who published his leaked documents continue working without fear of prosecution and, in some cases, brandish their journalism prizes while denouncing the man who made them possible.

The Assange arrest is a warning from history | Intrepid Report.com – John Pilger

April 15, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

The shocking arrest of Assange carries a warning for all who, as Oscar Wilde wrote, “sow the seeds of discontent [without which] there would be no advance towards civilisation”. The warning is explicit towards journalists. What happened to the founder and editor of WikiLeaks can happen to you on a newspaper, you in a TV studio, you on radio, you running a podcast.

Assange’s principal media tormentor, the Guardian, a collaborator with the secret state, displayed its nervousness this week with an editorial that scaled new weasel heights. The Guardian has exploited the work of Assange and WikiLeaks in what its previous editor called “the greatest scoop of the last 30 years”. The paper creamed off WikiLeaks’ revelations and claimed the accolades and riches that came with them.

Revolutionary Statists Means Lower Living Standards

April 15, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

The latest crop of government supplicants lick up the promises of expanded social welfare from the charlatans that run for public office. The first Democratic Presidential debate was a deranged rally for the sickest sociopaths that a terminal society could find. The most radical proponents of insanity were not named Clinton, Sanders or O’Malley; no the mentally ill audience and the dullard clones that support the governance directives of the Democratic Party are most in need of professional mental help. Indeed, the ranks have fallen so far, from the standards under John F. Kennedy, that the party is no longer recognizable. With the paragon of their “Great Society”, the successors to FDR socialism have become the ultimate threat to what remains of the Republic.
