Pieter Friedrich of Pumpkinhead

I'm an Irish-American Reformed Christian currently living in a small town in the California Sierra Foothills, in the gold country. I'm enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and will begin active duty on April 25, 2006. I disagree with the war in Iraq and take a generally isolationist stance on foreign policy, but I am not a pacifist and believe in our nation's duty to maintain a strong military.

My blog, Pumpkinhead, will primarily focus on political issues from a libertarian/independent perspective. Recent posts have included mentions of retired Democrat Senator Zell Miller and his pro-life activism, a brief overview of the Irish "Bloody Sunday" incident, my review of the recent "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" film, and an examination of the likelihood of war with Iran. Upcoming topics will be SCOTUS Justice Alito's anti-death penalty vote, the consequences of last year's "torture"ban, and anti-war coverage of Gulf War II.
