Derailing the Dance of the Digital Divide - No to UN Control of the Internet! by Paul M. Weyrich
Headlines proclaiming victories often apply only to the day they are published. When it comes to politics there are no “final victories” and I fear that will be the case with our so-called win at the recent meeting in Tunis of the World Summit on the Information Society. Headlines proclaimed “U.S. to Retain Oversight of Web” but one victorious battle for America does not mean that the war has been won. What is at stake is our continued control of our wealth and technology.
Comments:
While I realize that everyday brings a new issue, crisis or disaster for mankind to face, I hope that I am not being overdramatic in stating that 'UN control of the internet will be the deathknell to freedom'
Be ye on the right, the left, be ye constitutionalist or anarcist, this modern reincarnation of the soapbox at the town sqare is our last chance for true freedom of thought and expresion. We have no way to air our grievances with the political elite as they are cordoned off by a phalanx of government security forces. The so-called free press is now run by a cabal of less than a dozen organizations that have thier own agenda, that of world socialism. In fact, in many jurisdictions, it is actually against the law to stand in town square and protest your concerns without obtaining a 'permit'. So, do not look for the 'news media' to raise the alarm over the blatant attempt by the darklords of the UN to stiffle true freedom of the internet.
