The fact is that London is reliant on Washington in terms of defence capabilities, intelligence sharing, international diplomacy and economic cooperation. The days when Britons ruled the waves are long gone. Budget cuts have halved the Royal Navy’s fleet of ships and submarines since 1990.

A House of Commons Defence Committee Report titled Indispensable allies: US, Nato and UK Defence Relations suggests that Britain is “over-reliant on the US as a military partner” and “the degree of over-reliance could be measured by the UK’s ability to act independently in pursuit of its own national interest, without US support”.

CIA Panicking Over ‘Russiagate’ – American Free Press – Donald Jeffries

The same day Harris took to Twitter, hammering home the Deep State talking points on this subject. “Officials familiar with U.S. intelligence reports told the Postthat Mifsud had been identified by intelligence agencies as a potential Russian agent before he met Papadopoulos, an assessment drawn from reporting collected over several years.” He continued: “So why did we spend so much time on this, and why should you care? Attorney General Barr is now investigating the FBI/Mueller probe of Russian election interference and connections to the Trump campaign. Mifsud was in essence the impetus for that investigation.”

Touting the editorial line of both his newspaper and the entire mainstream media, Harris claimed, “But there is no real evidence that Mifsud was working for the FBI, the CIA, or British intelligence, as has been variously alleged. And while it’s still unclear what role if any he played in the Kremlin’s 2016 campaign, Mifsud’s links to Moscow are real and verifiable.”

Having lost our tolerance for free speech in its most provocative, irritating and offensive forms, the American people have become easy prey for a police state where only government speech is allowed. You see, the powers-that-be understand that if the government can control speech, it controls thought and, in turn, it can control the minds of the citizenry.

Republican, Democratic Senators Join Forces to Keep Sanctions on Huawei – Bill Gertz

A bipartisan group of senators on Tuesday introduced legislation to codify in law an export control ban on the use of telecommunications products made by China’s Huawei Technologies Ltd, the government-linked telecommunications giant.

The planned legislation, along with a companion bill in the House, reflects growing bipartisan support for American policies designed to protect against aggressive Chinese cyber and economic espionage operations.

The bill would strengthen in federal law a recent presidential executive order banning the importation and use of Huawei telecommunications products and those from “adversary nations.”

The legislation also would prohibit the Commerce Department from removing Huawei from the entities list—a roster of banned companies that are required to obtain export licenses before U.S. products can be sold to them—without an act of Congress.
