Why Our Churches Are Defaulting For War – We Hold These Truths

May 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

American leaders depend on patriotic, American Christians to support America’s serial wars. Churches have a Jesus taught responsibility to oppose the social evil of war with at least as much vigor as we oppose starvation after a natural disaster in faraway places. Meanwhile, wars and the threat of war go on unchecked and under-reported by our churches.

Our political leaders blame these serial wars on “hostile” little states that they vilify to keep our moral leaders quiet. Most churches fail to even pray for world peace. Does yours? Join Chuck Carlson and members of We Hold These Truths in this lively, 26 minute podcast about the importance of what Jesus taught: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God (Matthew 5:9). The Revelations of WikiLeaks: No. 3—The Most Extensive Classified Leak in History – Consortiumnews – Patrick Lawrence

May 17, 2019 by · Leave a Comment

For WikiLeaks, 2010 was an exceptionally eventful year. In April the transparency organization released “Collateral Murder,” the video of U.S. Army helicopters as they shot more than a dozen Iraqis in Baghdad. That proved a worldwide shock and put the 4-year-old publisher on the global media map.

“Afghan War Diaries,” a cache of 75,000 documents, followed in July.

Three months later, on Oct. 22, 2010, WikiLeaks released an even more explosive trove: 391,831 documents and videos it named “Iraq War Logs.” This superseded “Afghan War Diaries” as by far the most extensive leak of classified material in U.S. history. It shone a stark light on the U.S.–led coalition’s conduct in Iraq after its 2003 invasion, when the nation had erupted into a violent sectarian war. Julian Assange, WikiLeaks founder, said the Logs “constituted the most comprehensive and detailed account of any war ever to have entered the public record.”

Who Wants This War with Iran? – Patrick J. Buchanan – Official Website

Outside a few precincts, America has no enthusiasm for a new Mideast war, no stomach for any occupation of Iran.

Speaking on state TV of the prospect of a war in the Gulf, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei seemed to dismiss the idea.

“There won’t be any war. … We don’t seek a war, and (the Americans) don’t either. They know it’s not in their interests.”

The ayatollah’s analysis — a war is in neither nation’s interest — is correct. Consider the consequences of a war with the United States for his own country.

Towards a Culture of World Peace – Centre for Research on Globalization – Prof Michel Chossudovsky

The World is at a dangerous crossroads. A culture of war and military conquest is upheld. War is presented to public opinion as a US-NATO peace-making endeavor which will ultimately result in the spread of Western democracy.

Military intervention not to mention “economic warfare” (including sanctions) are routinely upheld as part of a humanitarian campaign.  War has been granted a humanitarian mandate under NATO’s “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P).

Culture which is the theme of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisations (Beijing, May 15-16, 2019)is of utmost importance in resolving conflicts within and between nations. Culture defines perceptions and understanding as well as dialogue and diplomacy.

In this regard, “Towards a Culture of World Peace” constitutes a commitment to Human Livelihood. It is  an initiative  which consists in confronting the discourse in support of  war and military intervention emanating from NATO and the Pentagon. It requires reviving a Worldwide anti-war movement, nationally and internationally as well as establishing a resolve by the governments of sovereign nation states to reject this Worldwide process of militarization.

The Democrats are proving that history always repeats itself | Non-Intervention2 – Michael F. Scheuer

This is the first of four articles I plan to write over the summer on the fact that history always repeats itself, primarily because human nature never changes. Almost all American children schooled in the post-1945 era have been taught that history never repeats itself. That is a lie, of course, but it has been drummed into young heads for 75 years, and now it is constantly parroted by those who are said to be well-educated professionals, such as university historians, leading politicians, and general officers. These creatures, of course, have flocked to interpret U.S. history in terms identical to the Democratic Party’s most extreme ideologues, specializing in the “deconstruction” of U.S. history, which is simply replacing truth with lies and hate.

The pieces I plan to write will focus on the unchanging nature of the Democratic Party, comparing that party in the antebellum and Civil War/Reconstruction period – roughly 183o-1877 – and the party’s history from 1963 to today. The specific topics to be looked at are the party’s approach to (a) nullification and secession; (b) slavery; (e) the electoral college, the Union, and the ballot; and (d) the use of history.
